Lepton Compositeness

One of the fundamental questions left unanswered by the standard model is the observed mass hierarchy of quarks and leptons. A possible explanation is that quarks and leptons have a substructure. One consequence of this would be the existence of excited states, such as excited leptons, which would decay to the ground state under emission of standard model particles. We are searching for such excited leptons in various decay channels.
